Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art focused on fostering
respect for others. Practice is done in pairs with both sides taking a turn.
This method of practice allows the development of good habits and isn't dependent on physical strength.

Our Instructor
Shota Sugawara (菅原章太)
Certified Instructor at Aikido Mugenjyuku.
Shota holds the rank of San-dan (3rd degree black belt) in the Yoshikan Organization.
Born in 1987 in Miyagi, Japan, Shota commenced Aikido training under the instruction of Malik Thahid.
In 2017, he joined Aikido Mugenjyuku Tokyo (Shinagawa) opened by Chris Crampton where he trains and teaches classes to adults and children.
Shota has also completed a special training course at the Aikido Mugenjyukyu headquarters in Kyoto.

Looking for something for grown-ups?
At the moment, JIAC only offers kids class.
However, adult classes are available through our instructor's Aikido Mugenjyuku Tokyo / Kamakura Dojo.
